Sharing love and joy is what makes life truly meaningful. And no one knows this better than Barbara. She volunteers her time with grace and kindness. This is one reason out of many why we chose Barbara and wish to honor her with resident of the month. Barbara volunteers her time calling Thursday night bingo, facilitating Wednesday morning bible study, leading the Thursday morning prayer group, and she is always available to assist with many other activities. These include room visits to residents who are confined to their rooms. She is also an ambassador to many of our new residents. And you will always find her lending a helping hand during our Wine and Cheese socials.
Barbara Morris was born September 29, 1949, and was raised on a farm in Harrisville, Mississippi. Barbara has 11 siblings (6 brothers and 5 sisters). Her parents raised all her siblings in church, where she became very active. Barbara was a Sunday School teacher, choir director and the choir president. She also worked in the Home Mission Society, and Sunday School Baptist Training Union. Barbara was also a member of two quartet singing groups, the Singing Inspirations, and the True Believers. Both singing groups kept her busy spreading the gospel traveling all around Mississippi and surrounding states. Barbara is now a valued member for our Townehouse Singers group.
Congratulations Barbara!
