Summer fun is in full swing – Picnics, Concerts in the Park and more!
Things are definitely happening at the Townehouse this month! From our legendary annual family Fourth of July 4 Picnic to a Free Outdoor Summer Concert open to the public, July promises to be full of fun and great memory-making at the Ventura Townehouse!
Fourth of July Picnic
Invite your family and friends to our Fourth of July Picnic Lunch in the Park. We will feature our resident winner cornbread and chili, along with a traditional barbeque of hamburgers, hotdogs, pork spareribs, fried chicken wings, funnel cakes, ice cream and more! Events start at 11am on the 4th, with live music featuring the Orchard Blue Grass Band. We have games for the kids, face painting and more. See you there wearing your Red White and Blue!

Introducing Tai Chi for Health With Anne
Starting July 12th, join Anne’s Tai Chi Class every Friday morning at 10am in the Park. She will lead participants through various forms of Tai Chi Qigong. If you are looking for a low impact, relaxing yet energizing form of exercise, you will enjoy Tai Chi Qigong!
Special Events & Outings
Wednesday, July 3rd – Join us for a short scenic drive along the coast, then lunch at the Wood Ranch restaurant. We will leave the Front Lobby at 10:30am. Sign up early in the Dining Room Lounge.
Friday, July 5th – Join us for a relaxing wine social with our favorite guitarist Gilberto in the front Lobby.
Friday, July 12th – Join us for happy hour when we welcome back Monte Montgomery and his fabulous Jazz trio.
Wednesday, July 17th – We will leave the front lobby at 9am to travel to Chumash and Solvang. Sign up early in the Dining Room Lounge.
Friday, July 19th – Join us for happy hour at 3pm. We have invited the Jumpin Joz Band back. They are the hottest band for swing music and dance in Southern California. Their style is a wonderful combination of swing, jazz, blues, jump, early R&B, a little old Rock n /Roll reminiscent of Count Basie, Louie Prima, Benny Goodman, Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Jordan, Gene Krupa, Oscar Peterson & Ray Charles. Our music is great for listening as well as swing dancing. Put on your dancing shoes!
Wednesday, July 24th – Los Angeles Science Museum presents the special exhibition LEONARDO DA VINCI: Inventor. Artist. Dreamer. Step into a world of wonder and innovation as you explore 30 ingenious inventions—including the Flying Bicycle, Great Organ, Mechanical Bat, and Great Kite—each built by contemporary Italian artisans according to da Vinci’s drawings.
We will leave the Front Lobby at 9:30am. Sign up in the Dining Room Lounge.
Friday, July 26th – Join us for happy hour when we introduce a new entertainer, Jeanne Tatum
Jeanne is charismatic and highly talented. She has been entertaining audiences throughout Ventura and Los Angeles counties for many years with her unique musical style that is all her own, but often reminiscent of great singers such as Nancy Wilson, Roberta Flack, and Sarah Vaughn. Her song book includes jazz, pop, blues, and R&B tunes.
Wednesday, July 31st – Join Nancee for another bargain shopping extravaganza in Santa Barbara. We will leave the Front Lobby at 10:30am.
