Gene met Jane when he was a cadet serving in the Air force. Jane was attending the women’s college in Colorado Springs close to the Air force base. It all began with a phone call from the secretary at the women’s college inviting men from the Air Force Base to attend their holiday dance. Gene saw Jane from across the room, asked her to dance, and the rest is history. That very same year Gene joined Jane and her family for Christmas at their home in Portland, Oregon. In 1959 Gene graduated from the academy and his graduation photo along with Jane was featured on the cover of Life Magazine. Soon after graduation they married. After 30 years serving in the Air force, Gene secured a position at Morton Air force Base in San Bernardino as the director of safety.

Jane’s career took her into modeling when she started out as a teacher for the Portland Oregon Charm School, later modeling for top magazines and catalogs. Gene and Jane raised two daughters and have four grandchildren. This year they celebrate their 65-year anniversary. Gene and Jane are enjoying life at the Townehouse while meeting new friends.
