Wai was born and raised in China. She met her husband after the second world war. They married and moved to California with her husband’s father. They settled in Santa Paula and bought a grocery store in town. Wai and her husband, along with four children managed the store for eleven years. When the store was sold, Wai went to work as a waitress. When she retired, she enjoyed working in her garden growing many vegetables. She enjoyed walking every day and exercise became her passion. When her husband passed, Wai moved into community living. First, she went to the Atria in Camarillo and then here to the Townehouse, where she said she has now found home. Wai has made many new friends she enjoys our activities, and especially loves to walk in our beautiful garden. She is currently looking for other residents who can play Mahjong Chinese style!
