I was born and raised in Rochester, NY. Growing up there, I enjoyed my horses and the opportunity to ride horseback daily.  I attended Honeoye Falls Central School graduating in 1954. Bucknell University was the next stop, in Lewisburg, PA, graduating in1958. Then came Columbia University in NYC graduating in 1960 with a degree from the NY School of Social Work.

I married and had my daughter, Diana, in 1962. I was very happily married for 54 years to Carl Wightman whom I had known at Bucknell.  He was a naval officer and after retiring from the Navy we returned to Upstate NY. He became Director of the Sheltered Workshop and I worked for the Assoc. of the Blind.

We enjoyed the beautiful countryside and could ski in the winter and ride our horses in summer. It was rather idyllic! Later, as time passed, we moved to Florida. Carl passed and I moved closer to Diana. Thus, I am here, enjoying life and new friendships in this beautiful locale.
