Terry was born in San Francisco and worked in New Jersey and New York City. Her father was an architect at the World’s Fair in San Francisco. Terry met her husband while working for a children’s camp; she worked as a counselor and her soon to be husband, Herbert, worked as a cook. Five years later they married. Terry studied pre-med at Antioch college in Yellow Springs Ohio, majoring in Biology. She also studied at the Columbia University in N.Y.C while Herbert majored in government at Harvard in Cambridge MA.
During her husband’s 2-year army service working as a doctor, Terry worked for the army as an outside contracted doctor. She later worked as a psychiatrist for many years and enjoyed the therapy and support aspect of her job. Terry shared that her husband, who was born in Vienna, was part of the Kindertransport; a group which saved 10,000 children from the Nazi war. At a very young age Herbert was separated from his parents and put on a train to England to escape the War. He was reunited with his parents after eight years.
Terri and her husband enjoyed going to the Metropolitan Opera in N.Y.C, and later in life they enjoyed spending their time traveling to Europe, Egypt, Japan, and China. Terry believes it is important to take time out to replenish your energy, become more thoughtful, see new places and meet new people. She has three children. One of her daughters lives in Ventura and visits often. Terri shared that the Ventura Townhouse is “a great place, very pleasant and friendly.” Welcome Terry!
